RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Perform a variety of installation, maintenance, replacement, and repair work on electrical and electronic systems and equipment in municipal traffic systems, street lighting systems, buildings, and facilities for the Traffic Division with in the Public Services Department.
Repair and replace defective or worn electrical and electronic parts in motors, generators, pumps, computers, street lights, traffic signals, telemetry equipment, controllers, switches, and other facilities and equipment.
Inspect newly installed electrical and electronic equipment and lighting to ensure safe and satisfactory functioning.
Knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, and procedures used in the repair of electrical, electronic, and mechanical devices.
Ability to understand and interpret written and oral instructions, including blueprints and wiring diagrams.
Ability to use and care for tools and equipment used in maintaining and repairing electrical and electronic devices.
Ability to serve on 24-hour call out.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Follow City safety procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: Three years (preferred) of increasingly responsible signal maintenance experience in a NEMA TS1/TS2 environment, preferably including practical experience in the maintenance of both signal equipment and closed loop systems. Must have knowledge of windows based computer systems.
Education: Equivalent to the completion of twelfth grade. Additional specialized training in electrical or electronic maintenance is desirable. Formal or informal education or training which ensures the ability to read and write at a level necessary for successful job performance OR any equivalent combination of education and experience.
License or Certificates: Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid Wyoming Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within the first six months of employment. Must have an IMSA Level II Signal certification. IMSA Level II Signal certification is desirable, or the ability to obtain IMSA Level I or II Signal certification within one year of employment.

This CDL required position is subject to drug and alcohol testing in compliance with DOT guidelines. A pre-employment test is required.
As a condition of employment, the successful candidate must utilize direct deposit for payroll purposes.
Driving records are required for all new employees regardless of the position's driving requirements. If the employee has not held a Wyoming driver's license for the last three years, the employee must provide at their own initiation and expense a driving record from their previous state(s) of residence. |
