Salary: $10.13 to $25.61/HOUR
RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
Effectively instruct a class that meets the needs of the public in the dance area, including, but not limited to: ballet, tap, modern, ballroom, country western, clogging or jazz.
Supervise class participants to insure participant safety and compliance with appropriate policies.
Maintain appropriate records associated with the class.
Communicate with the public regarding specific class information.
Perform appropriate tasks associated with class set-up, tear-down, and safeguarding of the facility.
Prepare and utilize class outline and recommend appropriate changes for future sessions.
Knowledge of procedures, methods, and techniques of instruction in the area of expertise.
Knowledge of principles of safety in the area of expertise. Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships employees and the public.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Ability to instruct in the area of expertise.
Ability to choreograph group and individual dances for recitals and public appearances.
Perform related duties and responsibilities as required.
Follow City safety procedures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Experience: One year of extensive experience in the area of expertise. Previous experience as a teacher or assistant in a similar class.
Education: Equivalent to the completion of the tenth grade.

Driving records are required for all new employees regardless of the position's driving requirements.
