From the National Endowment for the Humanities “On the Road” Series, this exhibit explores the experiences of a single generation – the stories of their lives, told in their words – from birth to old age.

Fort Caspar Museum is a Blue Star Museum again this year.  Between Memorial Day Monday, May 28th and Monday, Labor Day, September 3rd, members of the ACTIVE military and their families (up to five people) receive free admission to the Museum.  Click HERE  for more information or call the Museum (307) 235-8462.     



Lunch and Learn
Saturday, June 9th; lunch (with RSVP) begins at noon & lecture begins at 1:00 pm

     Lee M. Cullimore will discuss his new book, The Boys of Company K: Ohio Cavalry Soldiers in the West During the Civil War (High Plains Press, 2012; $18.95).  Book sales and signing will follow the Lunch & Learn Program.  Click HERE for more information.
     In The Boys of Company K, Cullimore focuses on the soldiers who volunteered to fight the Civil War but ended up building and manning remote outposts and guarding the trails and telegraph lines on the isolated Western Frontier.   Lunch will begin at noon with an RSVP.  The cost for lunch is $5 for museum members and $8 for non-members, payable at the door.  The lecture begins after lunch at 1:00 pm and is open to the public.  Visitors who choose not to join us for lunch may attend the lecture with paid museum admission of $3.00 (or free for FCMA Members).    Please call 235-8462 to RSVP for both the luncheon and/or the lecture by Wednesday, June 6th.
"Impressions on Wyoming" Summer 2012 Lecture Series

"Impressions on Wyoming” is the Museum’s annual lecture series.  Join us on Wednesdays at 6:30 pm on June 20, June 27, July 11, and July 18 to learn about Wyoming from east to west and from past to present.  Free of charge.  This program is sponsored in part by the Wyoming Humanities Council and the Fort Caspar Museum Association.

SUMMER ACTIVITY:Museum Adventure Quest Camp for Kids
July 23-27, 2012, 8:30am to 3:30pm

This summer activity is specially designed for children entering 2nd thru 5th grades and will be held at eight local museums, including Fort Caspar Museum.  The cost is $65 per child (includes lunch & transportation).  For more information, call the Casper Planetarium at 577-0310, or to register for camp using PayPal, please visit www.caspermuseums.org



YEAR-ROUND FUN:
Junior Army Scout Activity BookKids ages 5-12 learn about Fort Caspar Museum and Wyoming history while completing the Junior Army Scout Activity Book. It is free with admission. Kids receive a certificate and cool temporary tattoo by completing the book. Activities include connect the dots, drawing, reading, writing, math, fill-in the blank, and cross-word puzzles.
