Medal of Valor

Following the ceremony honoring those lost in the tragic event of September 11, 2001, Casper Fire-EMS honored one of its own firefighters. Craig Kidder was presented with the Public Safety Medal of Valor for his efforts to rescue a female from the North Platte River on May 24 of this year. Kidder, while off duty, observed a female victim in the river. Kidder made a quick decision to go into the water to attempt the rescue. He was able to swim to the victim and grab her. Officer Dan Dundas of the Casper Police Department also entered the water and joined in getting the victim to the shore and out of the water. Each man was honored by their respective agencies this weekend.
