Engineering enhances community livability by providing stewardship of the public infrastructure and community environment through professional oversight of infrastructure construction projects and management of infrastructure impacts.
Current Infrastructure Projects
PROJECT: 2012 Sidewalk Rehabilitation Project.
DESCRIPTION: Installation of new sidewalk and new ADA ramps to connect voids between existing sidewalk where there is no sidewalk or ADA ramps. Areas include intersections at North Mckinley Street and East C Street, North Jackson Street and East A Street, South Mckinley Street and East 10th Street, South Mckinley Street and East 12th Street, South Mckinley Street and East 13th Street, East 1st Street and North Beverley Street, East 1st Street and South Lowel Street.
PROJECT STATUS: South Mckinley Street and East 12th Street sidewalk installation completed. South Mckinley Street and East 10th Street sidewalk construction underway. All lanes to remain open during construction.
PLANNED ACTIVITIES: South Mckinley Street and East 13th Street intersection work scheduled to begin on 8/29/2012. Traffic Control to notify traffic of work in northbound shoulder of South Mckinley Street. All lanes to remain open during construction.
COMPLETION DATE: September 14, 2012
PROJECT COST: $47,000
FUNDING: Weed and Seed Area Improvements, Fiscal Year 2012
PROJECT: Arterial & Collector Streets Reconstruction
DESCRIPTION: Resurfacing of arterial and collector street sections by milling off approximately two inches of old asphalt and replacing with new asphalt pavement. Accessories include new concrete ADA ramps/mats, new inlaid striping, and concrete diamonds around manhole lids and water valve boxes. Street sections include Legion Ln. (Walsh Dr. to Wyoming Blvd.), Coffman Ave. (29th St. to Granada Ave.), McKinley St. (E. Yellowstone Hwy. to Railroad Underpass), 4th St. (Beverly St. to Country Club Rd.), 9th St. (Center St. to Ash St.), Beverly St. (15th St. to 21st St.), Plaza Dr. (Wyoming Blvd. to Patriot Dr.).
PROJECT STATUS: Miscellaneous corrections and punchlist items remain to be completed with minimal traffic or property owner impact.
COMPLETION DATE: October 12, 2012
PROJECT COST: $1,228,000
FUNDING: One Percent #14 Optional Sales Tax.
PROJECT: Miscellaneous Waterline Replacement
DESCRIPTION: Replacement of old waterlines, including new fire hydrants, new service lines to the curb stop valve, miscellaneous concrete replacement, and in some cases, new street surfacing over the entire street width. Street sections include 15th Street (Glendale St. to Beverly St.), Forest Drive (12th St. to Ivy Lane), Hazelwood Drive (12th St. to Forest Dr.), Ivy Lane (12th St. to Forest Dr.), Pennsylvania Avenue (3rd St. to 4th St.), Spruce Street (15th St. to 17th St.), Walnut Street (15th St. to 17th St.), Oak Street (Midwest Ave. to Old Yellowstone Hwy.), Elm Street (Midwest Ave. to Old Yellowstone Hwy.).
PROJECT STATUS: McKinley Street is currently receiving new waterline and will be completed this week. Miscellaneous corrections and punchlist items remain to be completed with minimal traffic or property owner impact.
COMPLETION DATE: November 23, 2012
PROJECT COST: $1,632,362
FUNDING: Waterline Replacement Capital Funds & One Percent #14 Optional Sales Tax (for street resurfacing)
PROJECT: 15th & Wolcott Sanitary Sewer Extension
DESCRIPTION: A new sanitary sewer main will be extended north on Wolcott Street for approximately 400 feet from 5th Street. The purpose is to replace a small network of sanitary sewer services in the area.
PROJECT STATUS: Project is fully complete and under warranty.
COMPLETION DATE: October 12, 2012
PROJECT COST: $149,000
FUNDING: Sanitary Sewer Manhole & Main Replacement Funds
