Working in Casper

Casper has been experiencing a huge economic boom in the last ten years, and its economy has continued to grow despite the national economic downturn. Casper’s personal income was 17th in the country among the nation’s 366 metropolitan areas per the Bureau of Economic Analysis. In 2012, HUD estimated the median family income of the Casper metropolitan area to be $67,000.

The City of Casper is proud of its strong working relationships with the local building community.  The development process in Casper, from site plan to certificate of occupancy, is efficient and predictable.  Casper is a regional leader in Smart Growth initiatives, as is exemplified by the Old Yellowstone District, a smart growth redevelopment area adjacent to the downtown core.

Beyond its role as a government, the City is also a major regional employer.  The city is currently recruiting for seasonal, part-time, and full time positions in a number of fields.
