Parks and Playgrounds are open

Parks, trails and open spaces can continue to be used in a safe manner that allows people to enjoy the mental and physical health benefits these spaces provide.  We encourage all users to follow these recommendations:

  • Refrain from using parks or trails if you are exhibiting symptoms.
  • Follow CDC’s guidance on personal hygiene prior to and during use of parks or trails.
  • The Parks Department is not sanitizing playground equipment or tables.  Sanitize picnic surfaces before and after use.  Use hand sanitizer before and after using playgrounds.  Stay 6 feet from other playground users.
  • Prepare for limited access to public restrooms or water fountains.
  • While on trails, warn other users of your presence and as you pass, and step aside to let others pass.
  • Follow CDC guidance, keep group size small and only walk with those in your household-- this includes outdoor picnicking, pick-up sports, playgrounds and other group hangouts, and maintain proper physical distance at all times.
  • Observe CDC’s minimum recommended social distancing of 6 feet from other individuals
  • The City strongly encourages individuals to wear face covering and/or adhere to social distancing guidelines as recommended by state and local health officials.  Face coverings are not required in parks.
  • The City of Casper is not responsible for any illness that develops during or after the use of our facilities.
  • Portable toilets are not currently available in all City Parks.  Additional portables that are normally placed for summer usage will not be placed for the foreseeable future.  Renters should check their desired park for bathrooms available.
