The City of Casper is pleased to announce that the Casper Solid Waste Division is being awarded an honorable mention by the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) for their innovations with fall protection in the baler building and for their continued dedication to improving safety by significantly reducing correctable OSHA safety concerns within a short period of time.

City Crews replaced the old fall arrest system with a movable drawbridge and slip protection materials that allow staff to access the back side of the power unity safely and more quickly than previously.

Solid Waste Manager Cindie Langston stated, “this is great news and our team should be thanked for their excellent work to improve safety in our division.  SWANA is a national organization and this is the first time we have submitted an application for a SWANA Safety award.  I am extremely proud of our team’s devotion to safety.”
