Casper Area Transit mask requirement to continue until May 3, 2022

Masks required on TransitCasper Area Transit (ASSIST – door to door service and LINK – fixed-route service) announced face masks will continue to be required of all passengers and staff through May 3, 2022.  The announcement follows a directive from The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) which said that it was extending the order, which was set to expire on April 18, until May 3 to allow more time to study the BA.2 omicron subvariant that is now responsible for the vast majority of cases in the U.S.

Casper Area Transit has required masks since March of 2020.  Scott Dresher, Transit Manager, said, “Given that Casper Area Transit is funded with federal dollars, we are required, as are all such transit systems nationwide, to abide by the federal masking requirements. We are committed to making sure both ASSIST and LINK continue to function in the safest possible manner.”  If masking requirements change, Casper Area Transit will provide updates.  More information on Casper Area Transit Service is available at 307.235.8273 for ASSIST (door-to-door service), or 307.235.8287 for LINK (fixed-route service) or the website at www.casperareatransit.org.
