Casper, Wyoming (March 10, 2022) – Casper’s Council of People with Disabilities (CCPD) is accepting applications from citizens who wish to serve as volunteer members of the CCPD.  “The mission of Casper’s Council of People with Disabilities is to be an educational and solution-oriented advisory committee that serves as a catalyst for promoting self-advocacy, equality, accessibility, and opportunity for all people, regardless of their disability,” explained Nikki Green, CCPD chairperson.

Casper’s Council of People with Disabilities is comprised of between twelve and sixteen volunteer Casper citizens who are appointed by City Council and serve three-year terms. CCPD meets at 12:00 p.m. on the fourth Thursday of every month at Casper’s City Hall, located at 200 North David Street. Members may also join meetings via Microsoft Teams.

“The ideal candidates are Casper residents with disabilities who are community-oriented and willing to be active members of a dynamic and diverse team,” said Green.  “Caretakers, family members, or legal guardians of persons with disabilities are also strongly encouraged to apply.”  Applications can be found  here.  Completed applications may be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to Casper’s Council of People with Disabilities, 200 North David Street, Casper, WY 82601.   The first round of application reviews will take place on March 24, 2022.
