ETIQUETTE FOR BOTH PARKS

  • Keep your dog from jumping on or interfering with other people and their dogs.
  • Off-leash does not mean out of control. Aggressive dogs should be removed immediately.
  • Guests should remain with their pets, keeping them within view and under verbal control.
  • Dogs must have up-to-date vaccinations and dog license.
  • Female dogs in heat should not be brought to the park.
  • Have your dog on a leash when entering and leaving the park.
  • In Lake McKenzie Dog Park, make sure that only one gate is open at a time.  Shut gates when entering and leaving the facility.
  • Children should be supervised by a parent or guardian.
  • Act responsibly. Use the park at your own risk.

TAKING DOGS TO OTHER PARKS

  • Leash Law - All dogs are required to be on a leash in all city parks with the exception of Morad Park and Lake McKenzie Dog Park.  Dogs are not allowed on baseball fields at any sports complex.  Dogs are not allowed on the soccer playing fields during play.
  • Events or festivals may choose to not allow pets.  This is up to the event organizer.  Dogs must be on a leash at events outside of Morad or Lake McKenzie Dog Parks.
  • Scoop the Poop - When taking your dog to the park or walking them on streets or pathways, don't forget to bring a waste bag.  Some parks have poop bag stations to help owners pick up.  Even if there are no stations, pet owners are required by city ordinance to pick up after their pet.
