Representatives from Casper Area Transit recently visited a UW / Casper College Social Work class regarding transit services in the Casper area. Students are studying methods for providing social services to clients and seeing how public transportation fits into that greater mission.

The City of Casper is a designated recipient of Federal Transportation Assistance from the Department of Transportation. As a designated recipient, the City of Casper is required to update their Title VI program every three (3) years. Title VI requires every designated recipient of federal funding to have a program in place to address Civil Rights complaints, to ensure that every contract funded by federal monies contains language that provides for Title VI adherence, to address Limited English Proficiency in the community through a written program, and to notify the public of their rights under Title VI. The Title VI Program is required per the Civil Rights Act of 1964, 42 U.S.C. § 2000d et seq.

WHAT'S THE BUZZ ABOUT CASPER AREA TRANSIT?
DISPATCH
Dispatch is staffed with two (2) full-time dispatchers and two (2) part-time driver/dispatchers. Dispatch schedules over 150 rides per day and quickly and efficiently works out any route deviations. The new scheduling software TripMaster has the ability to send a text message the evening prior to the scheduled ride day to notify the rider of the trip and again when the bus is on the way to pick up the rider.
BUS OPERATORS
We currently have 17 full-time and 8 part-time bus operators. Most of our bus operators have at least a decade or more experience operating a paratransit service.
FLEET
Our fleet consist of 9 LINK fixed route buses with the capacity to transport 18 to 30 passengers. The door-to-door ASSIST service has 12 buses with the capacity to transport 6 to 18 passengers. All buses are equipped for paratransit needs. All of our buses are maintained by the City of Casper Fleet Department.
FACILITY
Casper Area Transit facility has two (2) administrative assistants, who are responsible for sales, subsidy, statistics, FTA reporting and much more. There are two (2) supervisors, a Community Development Director and an MPO Support Technician.
Team Transit is very fortunate to be blanketed with all the support of the City of Casper. Together we all are very dedicated and work hard for the great citizens of Casper, Bar Nunn, Evansville, and Mills!
INCLIMENT WEATHER
In cases of extreme weather that affect the community at large, Casper Area Transit will make every effort to continue service but reserves the right to delay start times or ride times as necessary to continue to provide a safe environment for our passengers and employees.

- Bring completed application with your government issued photo ID and proof of income (Two months of pay stubs, food stamp card, or SSI/SSID statement) to Casper Area Transit Office located at 1715 E. 4th Street, Casper, WY 82601 during office hours Monday through Friday 8am to 5pm.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH
Casper Area Transit used two busses for the Christmas Parade on Saturday, November 27, 2021. The first was dedicated to the parade entry. The staff voted and choose Rudolph as the top favorite movie to decorate the LINK bus. The second was dedicated to helping the People with Disabilities to and from the parade.
